Full grain leather is what you want in a pair of boots. It is so much more durable, waterproof and easier to maintain than nubuck leather. This full grain leather with a wax finish will patina very nicely over time when nubuck will just fade. I wish Timberland would offer the 6 inch premium boots like these that are full grain leather and leather lined more often, they are a great improvement over the nubuck leather boots.
